Against that military dictatorship, Syeda Zohra Tajuddin played a leading role in restructuring and restoring the Bangladesh Awami League.

While studying at Dhaka University, She entered politics in 1956 as an active member of the anti-Ayub movement. In 1986, she was elected joint convener of the Political Prisoners Relief Committee. On August 15, 1975, and November 3, 1975, there was a storm of disaster in the skies of Bengal. The seeds of dictatorship were sowing. When no one dares to utter the name of Bangladesh Awami League for the native hyenas known as Pakistani agents, this majestic mother takes the helm of the Awami League.
In 1977, She was elected the convener of the party. Against that military dictatorship, she played a leading role in restructuring and restoring the Bangladesh Awami League. In 1981, she brought back Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina from exile and made the party president. And she presided over the part relentlessly until her death.

Syeda Zohra Tajuddin was born on December 24, 1932. She died on December 20, 2013. In 1959, she married Tajuddin Ahmed, the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh. They have four children, Sharmin Ahmed Riti (eldest daughter), Simin Hossain Rimi (middle daughter), Mahjabin Ahmed Mimi (youngest daughter), and Tanzim Ahmed Sohail Taj (youngest son).
