He was the first to compose ghazals in Bengal. He is said to be one of the five leading architects of Bengali music. He is also the promoter of the Thungri style in Bengali songs. He is known as a musician and composer.

You may not find anyone who did not read this poem in Bengali textbooks as a child. Atul Prasad Sen is the author of many such sweet lyric poems. On October 20, 1871, Atul Prasad was born in Dhaka's grandparents' house. His native place is Magar village in Naria upazila of Shariatpur. Atul Prasad lost his father and grew up with his Grandfather Kalinarayan Gupta at a very young age. Grandfather has his hands on music and devotional songs.
After passing the entrance examination in 1890, Atul Prasad studied at Presidency College, Calcutta, for some time. He went to London to study law, and after passing the bar, he started his career in Rangpur City and Calcutta.
Atul Prasad Sen, a well-known name in Bengali language literature and music, was simultaneously a poet, lyricist, and singer. However, Atul Prasad Sen is known as a musician and composer to Bengalis. Under British rule, he gained a reputation as a prominent Bengali lyricist, composer, and singer in the nineteenth century. Swadeshi music, devotional songs, and love songs are the songs of Atul Prasad Sen, divided into these three genres. However, the heartache of his personal life has more or less affected all kinds of songs. That is why most of his songs are in doleful flavor. Atul Prasad expressed his specialty in composing Bengali poetry by walking proudly within the sphere of influence of Rabindra Nath Tagoreagor from the late nineteenth to the middle of the twentieth century.
Although the number of comparable songs of contemporary lyricists is limited, the originality or novelty of music in many songs of Atul Prasad is visible. Moreover, he has gained an autonomous seat in Bengali music. His songs are specially established as Atul Prasad's songs. His songs were specially established as songs of Atul Prasad. He has done only 206 songs, of which 50-60 are predominant. Expatriate (Present Nikhil Varot ) Atul Prasad was one of the main initiators of Banga-Sahitya Sammelan. Although he did not participate directly in politics, he was first a supporter of Congress and later became a liberal. Atul Prasad also spent much of his earnings on local welfare. He even donated his house and copyright for the welfare of various organizations. He died on August 26, 1934. After his death, he was buried near Kawraid Brahma Mandir in Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur district in Bangladesh, according to his last wish.
