Popular Member of Parliament Ahsanullah Master was assassinated by terrorists on May 8, 2004, at noon in the open fire at MA Majid Mia High School ground in Noagaon, Tongi.
After graduation in 1970, Ahsan Ullah Master joined MA Majidmia High School in Noagaon, Tongi as a teacher. After participating in the war in 1971, he started teaching as the founding headmaster of the same school. He was the exception. Ethics was his unique asset. As a result, he left the politics of terrorism behind and ran endlessly to the commoner. Conquered their minds, love. He never floated in the stream of rotten society and perishable politics. He was an ideal teacher, a popular politician, a heroic freedom fighter, a man very close to the masses, and a friend of hardworking workers.
The fellow citizens were fully aware of the level of corruption in the politics of Bangladesh from the incident of Ahsan Ullah Master's murder at Noagaon MA Majid School in Tongi. Judges called it "mass murder, dastard or cowardice." Following the observation, the court feared that the "rule of law cannot be established in the country unless a proper political culture is developed; democracy will come to a standstill'.
The May 7, 2004, meeting of Ward No. 10 of Tongi Municipality was chosen to carry out this pre-planned murder. Immediately after the committee's announcement at the conference, 10-12 terrorists climbed the back wall of Noagao School, came in front of the stage and were shot randomly. It targeted Ahsan Ullah Master, who was on the stage. Leaders and activists rescued him and brought him to Tongi Government Hospital. From there, he was taken to Mohakhali Chest Disease Hospital and later to CMH Hospital in critical condition. Ahsan Ullah Master died at CMH while undergoing treatment. When the news of his death spread, the people of Gazipur and the whole country were shocked. Millions of people came out on the highway, and continued protests erupted against those misguided killers. The role of tears became common among the people. Tongi and Gazipur became cities of mourning. In protest, the workers and people separated Tongi and Gazipur from the rest of the country, including the capital. On that day, it was understood how popular Ahsan Ullah Master was among the people of Gazipur. How much do the people of Gazipur love their beloved teacher, this benevolent, selfless, and idealistic politician?
According to his name, Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium and Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Flyover have been built in Tongi.
Ahsanullah Master was born on November 9, 1950, in the Hyderabad village of Pubail Union in the Dhaka district (now Gazipur). Mother Begum Rosmetunnesa and father Pir Saheb Shah Sufi Abdul Quader Pathan. Wife, Farida Ahsan. Mr Zahid Ahsan Russel, the State Minister for Youth and Sports, also a member of the parliament in Gazipur-2, his elder son and younger son Zabid Ahsan Sohel, died at 33.
